NY State Voter Lookup

Monday, June 4, 2018

Hi Everyone!

This message is to let you all know a bit more about the WiFi Mobile
Hotspots that we will be circulating beginning Friday, June 1st.

At the desk is a PDF of the informational brochure which will be available
in the building to give to patrons. This should address most of the
questions you may have, but here are some of the highlights and additional

information:

The T-Mobile hotspots provide coverage in the United States only (not
internationally).

They work on cellular signals so, just as with a cell phone, usage is
impacted by access to cell signals. This means specifically T-Mobile
cellular service.

The hotspots may be borrowed on a first-come, first served basis for a two
week period by adult Harborfields Library cardholders. There is a $5/day
overdue fine and I will be able to turn off service to devices that are not
returned on time. The circulating components include the carrying case,
hotspot, the charger and cord. There is a streamlined factsheet inside each
case for patrons upon checkout. Also, our hotspots feature a 3D-printed case
designed by Ryan.

Hotspots will be stored in the cabinet above Aileen's old desk (now the ILL
Desk) in Circulation. Check out and return will be at the Circulation Desk.

Hotspots should never be returned to the book drop or another Library.

Patrons will be asked to initial a check-out agreement at the Circulation
Desk.

The item status in the OPAC will read "SEE LIBRARIAN". Please, when prompted
by Sierra at check out or return, do not clear that status. When the item is
checked out, a due date will be visible above the words "SEE LIBRARIAN".
When hotspots are returned, they will be put in my mailbox to be tested.
Diane will test any hotspots returned on Saturdays. During the period
between return and the time Diane or I physically test the device, the
hotspot will not be available to the public. When it is ready and available,
it will be put back in the cabinet in Circulation.

Patrons will know a hotspot is available for check out in one of two ways:

There will be a small display near Circulation which will house empty DVD
cases that indicate a hotspot is available. A patron may take this item to
the Circulation desk to check out a hotspot. Additionally, patrons may ask
staff members if a hotspot is available. Staff members will know if a
hotspot is available when the OPAC/Sierra record says "SEE LIBRARIAN" and by
physically checking for one of the empty DVD cases or the cabinet in
Circulation. The OPAC record for the hotspots is:

https://search.livebrary.com/record=b5263302~S28

Please remember at this time, there are no renewals or reserves on the
hotspots.

Thank you so much to everyone for showing such enthusiasm for this new
service!

Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions you may have or reach out
to me with concerns or feedback. It is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Melissa
